Knitting. Sewing. Scrapbooking. Keychains. Latch hooking. All of these are wonderful crafts that I enjoy experimenting with on a regular basis. Some of have become my absolute favorite crafts that I have enjoyed more than others. Some of them I found are harder than others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today I will be rating on a scale of difficulty of 1 to 5 (5 being easiest, 1 being hardest) some of my favorite crafts I have attempted. There are a few easy ones as well as more difficult ones\u2014hopefully this gives you a wide range of crafts to try in the future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

5. Keychains<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I love making keychains. There\u2019s no wrong way to make them. There are so many different kinds. They can be either super useful or just pretty. They make great gifts. You can always use another one. What is there NOT to like about key chains?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of my favorite keychains to make is a simple tassel with beads. This was my first ever keychain in this style- didn\u2019t turn out the greatest because it was a quick experiment, but that only leaves room for improvement, right? \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Card Making<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Card making is by far one of my favorite crafts that I truly enjoy; I would even say that it is my favorite craft of all the ones I\u2019ve tried. My grandmother introduced me to rubber stamps several years ago and since then, I\u2019ve amassed a huge amount of stamps and other card making supplies such as stickers, ribbon, and patterned paper. Yes, all four boxes came with me to college. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something I love about making greeting cards is that you could either follow a pattern or make very individualized patterns. I have followed patterns in the past, but in recent years I usually take inspiration from others\u2019 work and customize my cards for the person who will be receiving them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Handmade cards are appreciated so much by those who receive them. This is a craft I recommend above all others as something that’s super fun and blesses others at the same time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Cross Stitching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Cross stitching is a craft that varies greatly in difficulty depending on the project you choose. A Bible verse framed with a border usually won\u2019t be as difficult and detailed as a beach landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That being said, I find cross stitching to be a very fun and relaxing activity. Something about seeing those rows of stitches neatly lined up then outlined with crisp back stitches is so satisfying. \ud83d\ude0a Check out my top 3 tips for cross stitching<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Knitting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Knitting is a craft that I do mostly during the winter. This is probably due to the fact that I like to use fuzzy yarn and make blankets, ponchos and scarfs. It just doesn\u2019t feel right making them in the summer\u2026\ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The knit stitch is clearly the easiest stitch. I find purling next easiest, with stockinette next (alternating the knit stitch and purl stitch to create ribbing; see above photo). There are many other stitches that I still struggle with or haven\u2019t even attempted yet. With the many stitches and huge number of projects that are possible, this is a craft that both beginners and crafters of many years can enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This made it to the top as the hardest craft I\u2019ve experimented with mainly because I\u2019ve had quite a few mishaps. I have many unfinished sewing projects simply because I did something so drastically wrong or became confused enough that I said \u201cI\u2019ll finish it later.\u201d Maybe I still will finish them\u2026 \u201clater.\u201d \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complexity also depends on the sewing machine you use and the pattern you try. I tend to be overly ambitious, so I may <\/em>have attempted more complex patterns than I was ready for. \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do enjoy hand sewing smaller items, such as doll clothes and the occasional keychain. I even once made an adult-sized tank top and a toddler dress by hand sewing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are so many crafts to try. You can make a keychain in an hour or two, a card in an afternoon, a scarf in a week, or a dress in a month. There is something for everyone in the crafting world! I hope this list gave you some new ideas to try!
